What to Expect

In my work, I help people feel safe enough so that together, we can find ways to express what bothers and what hurts.  And, I will stand by you during the process in order to help you during each step of the way.

How do I work?  In our first meeting, we try to identify some of your goals for therapy.  We also establish what you need from me in order to achieve those goals.

During the first meeting, patients often ask me how therapy will work.   Although each person’s therapy is different, some things are common.  Most patients start off feeling nervous. Eventually, the nervousness wears off and is replaced by a sustaining, therapeutic relationship. And, we always proceed at a pace that is comfortable and safe for you.
